The State Government is helping to create 50,000 new homes statewide - an increase of 10,000 above previous expectations - as part of the A Better Housing Future plan and the current pipeline of residential rezonings (code amendments).

Housing Roadmap – land releases

  • 2,000 homes at Onkaparinga Heights – rezoned
  • 12,000 homes at Concordia (increased from 10,000) – rezoned
  • 1,700 homes at Sellicks Beach – rezoned
  • 1,000 homes at Murray Bridge – rezoned
  • 3,000 homes at Smithfield – rezoned
  • 1,700 homes at Southwark – rezoned
  • Up to 15,000 homes, previously 10,000, at Dry Creek - government-led rezoning process has commenced

New land releases – identified since Housing Roadmap:

  • 16,600 homes at Kudla – rezoning in progress
  • 3,600 homes at Port Stanvac - rezoning in progress
  • 1,250 homes at Gifford Hill - rezoning in progress

The current land release program will provide housing opportunities for more than 100,000 South Australians.

Increasing residential land supply will support the property market and create more diverse and affordable housing to meet the needs of our growing population.
